

Thursday (12/3/2026) – The Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of Padjadjaran University (Unpad) hosted Prof. Dr. Mikihiro Moriyama from Nanzan University, Nagoya, Japan. He visited FIB Unpad as a guest lecturer for a public lecture, discussing literature and culture from three different perspectives. The event was divided into three sessions tailored for students of the Indonesian Literature, Sundanese Literature, and Japanese Literature Study Programs:

Introduction to Japanese Literature and Teaching
It is hoped that this activity will serve as a catalyst for students to conduct collaborative research bridging local culture with a global perspective, in line with FIB Unpad’s vision and mission to preserve culture amidst the era of globalization.
The public lecture with Prof. Mikihiro Moriyama is strongly relevant to efforts to achieve SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). From an educational perspective, discussions on comparative Asian literature, Sundanese Studies, and Japanese literature teaching methodologies serve as academic catalysts that broaden students’ perspectives while simultaneously enhancing the quality of research at FIB Unpad. Meanwhile, the presence of an international guest lecturer from Nanzan University also reflects a tangible implementation of global partnerships, fostering cross-cultural research collaborations that bridge local perspectives with the currents of globalization.
