Expanding Green Ecosystems through the New Garden at FIB Unpad

Direct actions to preserve and expand ecosystems, along with their biodiversity of plants and animals, are essential—especially for those under threat. One meaningful step is the creation of more open green spaces that allow ecosystems to thrive naturally.

At the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Universitas Padjadjaran, this effort is currently being realized through the construction of a new garden behind the faculty building. More than just a recreational spot, the garden is designed as an open green area that contributes to water absorption, supports local biodiversity, and enriches the campus ecosystem. By welcoming diverse plants and creating a more hospitable environment for pollinators and small wildlife, the garden is set to become a living example of how academic spaces can coexist with nature.

With this initiative, FIB Unpad strengthens its role not only as a center of learning and research but also as a steward of the environment—demonstrating that sustainability can grow hand in hand with academic life.
