Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) is working to improve energy efficiency across campus. Understanding how much electricity is used per person on campus is important for monitoring and managing energy consumption.
By 2023, Unpad’s total electricity usage is estimated to reach 12,000,000 kWh. This electricity usage covers many facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, offices, and libraries. With a campus population of approximately 36,958 people, we can calculate the average electricity usage per person.
Using this data, the total electricity usage per person at Unpad is 325 kWh. This means that each individual on campus if divided equally, used approximately 325 kWh of electricity during the period. This number provides a clear picture of electricity consumption at the individual level.
It is important to understand this number given that it helps Unpad in designing strategies to reduce energy consumption. By knowing the average electricity usage, the university will be able to more effectively identify areas that need improvement, design energy efficiency measures, and support sustainability efforts on campus.
Through this approach, Unpad is not only trying to reduce operational costs, but is also committed to reducing the environmental impact of energy consumption. This is part of a larger effort to create a more environmentally friendly and sustainable campus.
