Faculty of Cultural Sciences Implements Plastic Reduction and Disposable Use Reduction Program
The Faculty of Cultural Sciences is taking concrete steps to support sustainability by implementing programs that reduce both plastic waste and the use of disposable items. This initiative reflects the faculty’s commitment to building an environmentally conscious academic community.
One of the key programs is encouraging all students, lecturers, and staff to bring their own tumblers. By doing so, the faculty not only reduces plastic consumption but also minimizes reliance on disposable items such as single-use plastic bottles and cups. This small yet consistent habit directly supports waste reduction on campus.
The Dean of the Faculty has called on the academic community to adopt these eco-friendly practices. As a symbolic act during the Program Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru (PMB), Dr. Lina Meilinawati Rahayu, M.Hum., Vice Dean I, distributed tumblers as door prizes to new students. This gesture highlights that environmental care can be integrated into campus activities in meaningful and engaging ways.
Through these programs, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences hopes to foster long-term behavioral change. Reducing plastic and disposable items is not just an individual responsibility but a collective movement that, when implemented consistently, will bring significant positive impact to the environment.
Bring your tumbler, reduce plastic, say no to disposables — together we can make a difference!
